Important Administrative Things to do This Month for Community College Districts
(This “to do list” is intended to provide a synopsis of a few of the tasks normally started or performed during this month. The list is obviously not exhaustive in nature and designed only as a “reminder” to be supplemented by each Personnel/Human Resources Department’s specific duties.)
Personnel Timeline
- Continue collective bargaining process
∼ Check collective bargaining agreement (“CBA”) regarding dates for the exchange of initial proposals from employee organizations and the District
∼ Other obligations in the collective bargaining agreement for April
- Continue preparing budget projections-classified and faculty salaries
- Notify Exclusive Representative of possibility of classified employee layoffs if necessary
To do at Various Times of the Year
- Begin identification process for academic and classified employees eligible for early retirement incentives
- Review, revise and update board policies
- Update job descriptions to meet current state/federal mandates (may require negotiations with employee unions)
- Respond to insurance enrollment/claims/inquiries
