Important Administrative Things to do This Month for Community College Districts 

(This “to do list” is intended to provide a synopsis of a few of the tasks normally started or performed during this month. The list is obviously not exhaustive in nature and designed only as a “reminder” to be supplemented by each Personnel/Human Resources Department’s specific duties.)

Personnel Timeline

  • Continue collective bargaining process

∼ Check collective bargaining agreement (“CBA”) regarding dates for the exchange of initial proposals from employee organizations and the District 

∼ Other obligations in the collective bargaining agreement for April

  • Continue preparing budget projections-classified and faculty salaries
  • Notify Exclusive Representative of possibility of classified employee layoffs if necessary

To do at Various Times of the Year

  • Begin identification process for academic and classified employees eligible for early retirement incentives
  • Review, revise and update board policies
  • Update job descriptions to meet current state/federal mandates (may require negotiations with employee unions)
  • Respond to insurance enrollment/claims/inquiries
