Things to do in May – Community College Districts

Important Administrative Things to do This Month for Community College Districts

(This “to do list” is intended to provide a synopsis of a few of the tasks normally started or performed during this month.  The list is obviously not exhaustive in nature and is designed only as a “reminder” to be supplemented by each Personnel/Human Resources Department’s specific duties.)

  • Select academic/classified retirement recognition items
  • Recommend Board action and notification of:

 ∼ Transfers

∼ Reassignments

∼ Termination

  • Notify personnel of layoffs after final board action (check policies and CBA):

∼ Faculty

∼ Classified personnel

  • Send end of year letter to classified/faculty/ substitutes regarding unemployment insurance (30 days prior to end of work year)
  • Finalize summer session faculty assignments
