Important Administrative Things to do This Month for School Districts
(This “to do list” is intended to provide a synopsis of a few of the tasks normally started or performed during this month. The list is obviously not exhaustive in nature and is designed only as a “reminder” to be supplemented by each Personnel/Human Resources Department’s specific duties.)
- Review board policy/employment contracts and prepare board action regarding:
- Reassignment of principals/administrators
- Transfer of principals/administrators
- Employee release and/or non-reemployment
- Evaluate certificated employees:
- Review collective bargaining agreement and assist site administrators in the preparation and completion of remaining observations and evaluation reports
- Evaluate classified employees:
- Review collective bargaining agreement to ensure compliance
- Review probationary classified employee evaluations
- Review permanent classified employee evaluations
- Distribute annual salary projection questionnaire to certificated employees regarding anticipated educational credit in accordance with any terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement and in preparation of the following year’s operating budget
- Review certificated job descriptions; revise as needed
- Ensure that board policy reviews and revisions are current
- Review and organize classified, certificated and management personnel files
- Audit workers’ compensation claims
- Continue to review and update classified job descriptions
